Kids Min Volunteer Process

Thank you for your interest in serving with the Vertical Kids team!

We are glad you want to serve alongside our teams as we partner with parents to make disciples of the next generation.

To best ensure excellent, safe, and engaging environments, we have an on-boarding process for volunteers that looks like this:

Step 1. Application

Step 2. Background Screening & Family Ministry Covenant

Step 3. Test Drive

Step 4. Volunteer Handbook & Training

Step 5. Regular Serving Rotation.

You can get started on this process below! We can’t wait to serve with you!

  1. Application

To begin the process, we want to get to know a little bit about you and your interests, so please fill out the volunteer application below.

2. Background Screening & Family Ministry Covenant

Background Check

The safety of the children in Vertical Kids is our highest priority. Once your application has been approved, we’ll send you a background check.

All Vertical Kids volunteers must complete this nationwide level criminal and sexual predator background check. All information will be kept confidential, and used only for our purposes in evaluating you for a volunteer position.

After the background check is completed, we’ll have you read through our Family Ministry Covenant.

Family Ministry Covenant

By choosing to enter into a leadership role in one of our family ministry environments, you are entering into a position of influence and authority. Our children, teens, and their parents will watch you closely and take what you say seriously. We think that is a good thing. Leaders should be role models. The challenge is that being a role model is all-encompassing. As a role model, your lifestyle is part of the equation. What you present in your ministry area should be consistent with who you are in your various roles the remainder of the week. Would you please read through and agree with these commitments in the Family Ministry Covenant?

3. Test Drive

Once you complete the application, background check, and Family Ministry Covenant, we’ll contact you about setting up a test drive so you can experience the environment, meet leaders and teammates, ask questions, and determine which role is the best fit.
We value your willingness to give your time and talents to our Kids Ministry!

Our Volunteer Handbook gives best practices and policies for serving in our Vertical Kids environments. Please read and be familiar with this information to best set you up to serve our families well.

5. Training & Serving rOTATION

After completing this on-boarding process above, we’ll follow-up to put you on a regular serving rotation and answer any questions you may have. We’ll also schedule you a time to complete a specific training on your ministry environment, so you know how to best serve in that area!

We ask that all volunteers make it a priority to “Work One, Worship One” — meaning, on the weeks you are scheduled to serve, you attend the service at the opposite time (I.e. serve the 9 AM & attend the 11 AM, or vice versa).

Let us know your availability to serve: Monthly, Twice a Month, or Weekly!

Thanks so much for completing this process and serving on our Kids Min Team!
